In one of the churches where Kym and I served previously, we had a copy of a photograph taken of the church some eighty years before and in that picture you can see that the magnificent tree that today stands outside the church building was only just above head-height. There is something special isn’t there about people who have the vision to plant trees, even though they may never see them reach their full height?

The old proverb says that the best time to plant a tree is twenty years ago. But if you haven’t planted it already, the next best time is today. As we enter a new year, we have a choice to make: we can either wallow in our regrets over the trees we have not planted, or we can decide to plant a tree today. What tree will you and I plant? What trees will the Westville Methodist community plant this year?

May 2023 be a hopeful and happy year for you and those you love!
