We are living in tough economic times and because our people are under pressure, churches everywhere are likewise feeling the financial strain. We've had some conversations about this in our Leaders Meeting and Exec and are exploring options to try and improve our financial position.
A conversation in the office this week with Laura (who manages our finances at WMC on a day to day basis) has stayed with me though. Laura sees all the transactions in and out of our bank account and she was saying just how incredibly encouraging it is day after day to see the faithfulness of our people, who give generously, consistently, and without fuss or drawing attention to themselves. Thank you - you make so much possible here!
If you are new to the church, how can you get involved? In our leaders' meeting last week, one of our leaders (who has been a committed WMC member for many years) said somewhat sheepishly :) that it was only last year that she eventually got around to signing up as a planned giver. We have 108 planned givers at the moment (individuals or couples). If you'd like to be a planned giver at WMC, it's very simple - email Laura (laura@westvillemethodist.co.za) and she will allocate you a PG number. There are also pamphlets at the welcome desk explaining how it all works.
