Our kids were rummaging around the house this week and came across a relic from the past tucked away in the back of a cupboard - a CD folder packed with old CD's. It didn't seem like such ancient technology to me,but as I watched them open it up in fascination, I realised how foreign these things were to them. They nervously fed a CD into the car radio on the way to school and were amazed to see that this thing worked nearly as well as Spotify on a cellphone :)

These are instructive moments, rare opportunities when we get to see something through someone else's eyes. As I am writing this, I'm thinking ahead to the services this Sunday and wondering how others might experience something that is so familiar to me (and to many ofus). There are things that we do without thinking in a worship service which may be completely foreign and strange for people new to the church.

What would it look like for us to come to worship this weekend with fresh eyes, like a curious child? Who might help you and me to see with new eyes this week?
