Our home group has been running in its present form for almost a year now. In that time, we have done some Bible Study together, and we have had numbers of spiritual conversations, but mostly, we have talked and laughed, drunk coffee and shared what is going on in our lives.

This week some of our group members were reflecting on what the group has meant to them. They spoke about the way that the group offered friendship, the stability of a weekly rhythm and a gentle path back into spending time with people after the trauma of the pandemic. There has been much banter and fun, but there have also been important moments of sharing and practical caring.

Small groups in a church may take many forms, but there is no doubt that when we join one of these little communities we feel like we belong, we are cared for and able to care for others, and the discipleship journey truly becomes something that we do together.

In our covenant service, I reminded us that at WMC we believe that growing disciples WORSHIP regularly, CONNECT in small groups, SERVE faithfully and GIVE generously. If you would like to connect with a WMC small group, grab a pamphlet from the welcome counter in the church, visit our website/app, or email us at the office.
