I had plans for Friday morning at the office - things to do. So did Laura and Valda. It turns out though that the storm on Thursday night had other plans for us - we arrived at the church to find that the lightning had taken down the phones, computers, Internet, projector.

We are living in tough economic times and because our people are under pressure, churches everywhere are likewise feeling the financial strain.

Our kids were rummaging around the house this week and came across a relic from the past tucked away in the back of a cupboard - a CD folder packed with old CD's. It didn't seem like such ancient technology to me,but as I watched them open it up in fascination, I realised how foreign these things were to them.

Our family recently spent a wonderful 5 days camping at Cape Vidal. We divided our time between the beach and the game reserve and it was fantastic to unplug after a busy term. Scattered around the campsite we saw signs reminding us that we were in a game reserve and warning of the dangers of running into hippos, elephants, leopards etc

An Order from God 17 Apr '23 • David Jordan
At the tomb Jesus tells the women that the disciples must go to Galilee, where they will see Him. They obey and are given a practically impossible task: "Go and make disciples of all the nations. "The disciples are probably afraid when they get this order from the risen Jesus.

What sometimes happens in churches during our Good Friday service is that we can become morbidly fascinated by the horror of the crucifixion and find ourselves focusing on the specific details of the pain that Jesus endured on the cross.
