It’s been a busy week! On Tuesday night we were together for pancakes, with everyone chipping in and helping with food, set-up and cleaning up. It was such a happy evening with plenty of laughter and re-connecting – well done to all involved!
Then came Ash Wednesday and we held a morning and evening service this year. The early service felt like a preview of our 07h30 service (which restarts this Sunday) – hymns, organ music and a small group of us gathered together around the communion rail. It was lovely to be able to receive communion in a more familiar way in both services and we’ll be doing so again this Sunday.
Friday morning saw our ladies gathering for the annual Women’s World Day of Prayer service for the first time in a while, and then this Sunday we are so excited to be re-starting our children’s church at the 09h00 service (our teenagers have already been meeting at the same time these last few weeks).
It really does feel like a return to familiar things after these difficult last two years!
