Some really exciting news! You will remember that when we took the decision to sign the lease with Corabrand of some of our upstairs rooms, our thinking was that part of the rental income would help fund an additional staff member to oversee our youth and children's ministries. After much searching and praying, we are delighted to let you know that one of our own, Nhlanhla Mbatha, will be joining our team on a part-time basis from the beginning of November.
Many of you will know Nhlanhla well - she and her husband Andile have worshipped with us since 2014. Nhlanhla previously served as our youth pastor here at WMC for several years (and was a fully accredited local preacher in our circuit) before heading off to Seth Mokitimi Methodist Seminary to complete her undergraduate theological studies. Nhlanhla considered candidating as a Methodist minister but ultimately made the decision to join her father - an Assemblies of God pastor - in leading a rural congregation in Mpumalanga (she is ordained as a pastor in the AOG).
Nhlanhla comes to us with a great deal of practical ministry experience - years of working with youth and children but also in local church pastoral leadership. She will oversee our youth and children's teams and co-ordinate curriculum development and recruiting and training volunteers. But she also has much to offer the wider congregation and will be directly involved in pastoral care and in our leadership team. Welcome back, Nhlanhla - we're excited to have you on the team!
