I had a meeting this week with the regional representative of a global missionary organisation. Henry works with Operation Mobilisation and his passion for people groups around the world who have had little or no exposure to the gospel of Jesus was a helpful reminder for me that there is more to the Church than just our pressing local concerns. OM aims to work closely with local churches through praying together and by offering training opportunities for local, national and global outreach. You may remember that the Ingram family visited WMC just over two years ago before they were deployed to Albania by OM and some of you signed up to receive their regular email newsletter. If you're interested in praying for specific countries and unreached people groups around the world, have a look at the Operation World app and website.
While most of us probably won't end up heading off as missionaries to a foreign nation, we are all called to play our part in the work of the global Church (as William Temple reminds us, we exist for our non-members). Are there practical ways that we can make a difference through our praying, our giving, our serving? What do you think?
