Pray for the Nations

Both South Africa and Zimbabwe stand in need of fervent prayer.

On Sunday 26 November 2017 a National Day Of Prayer will be held in response to the call of many religious leaders and churches.  Methodist people are invited by our Presiding Bishop, Ziphozithle Siwa, to join with other South Africans to pray.
Pray privately, pray in churches, stop for a few minutes at 12:00 and pray for South Africa . . .

  • Pray for the unity of all South Africans of all races and languages
  • Pray for the change of the plight of the unemployed and marginalised
  • Pray for a transformed reality of abused children and women
  • Pray for God’s guidance and blessings for a better future for all South Africans

In Zimbabwe recent developments have resulted in the release of a statement by the churches of Zimbabwe calling for a number of things, including prayer. See the document here: Zimbabwe Statement

Blue Christmas Service

Some of us find it difficult to face the festivities and all the jolly events at this time of year, possibly because of the heaviness we carry. Perhaps it’s some grief, pain or trauma we’re trying to process, maybe we feel lonely, stressed or distracted. Whatever the reason, the Blue Christmas Service is designed to take these and other similar feelings into consideration

The service is quiet, reflective and comfortable. It will allow time to think, remember and give thanks while allowing whatever emotion is felt to be acknowledged. It will give the opportunity to light a candle in a symbolic gesture and will hopefully add special meaning to how we manage coping with the Christmas festivities.

We’d love you to join us.

For enquiries please call +27 31 2665222.
