Welcome! We are a worshipping and witnessing community who aims to welcome anyone who seeks to join us in our journey of faith and discovery, following Jesus.
Ours is a Society (local church) in the Methodist Church of Southern Africa, situated in Durban, Kwa-Zulu Natal. People in our church are from across the age spectrum and our ministries seek to cater for all of these in some way. On Sundays we gather together to worship and many of us meet in smaller groups during the week for Spiritual growth and fellowship. We have an active Social Concerns dimension to our community and endeavour to increase our mission outreach activities both close to home and farther afield.
Our Mission is:
- To Know Jesus as Saviour,
- To Grow in His likeness, and
- To Show the love of God - through the power of the Holy Spirit in our lives.
This is achieved by enthusiastically
Committing ourselves totally to our Lord.
Proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Worshipping and praying regularly, privately and corporately.
Developing Christian fellowship at congregational and small group levels.
Studying the Bible.
Teaching biblical principles of the Kingdom of God.
Being witnesses to Jesus Christ through the fruit of the Holy Spirit in our lives.
Equipping for service through enabling members to discover the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
Caring for our families, our fellow members, and reaching out in love and service to others.
Evangelizing within the congregation and the wider, local community.
Encouraging those who feel the call to full time ministry.
Supporting missions and outreach work in the wider field.
Upholding the biblical principles of Truth and Justice.

Four worship services are held at WMC each Sunday:

The Executive Committee
This group presently comprises the two ministers, Children’s Pastor, Lay Pastor and 9 elected Society Stewards together with chairpersons of numerous Commissions (ministry committees).
The executive guides the affairs of the Westville Methodist Church and is, amongst other things, responsible for the smooth running of the church, its finances, ministries, mission and pastoral matters. It bears ultimate responsibility for all Society activities. Members of the executive meet twice per month.
Any correspondence or submission to the executive is welcomed, and may be channelled through the office.
